EL SEGUNDO, CA (October 13, 2022) – Friday night, a pedestrian died in a crash along Pacific Coast Highway involving an officer.

The incident happened on October 7th, just before 10:00 p.m., near El Segundo Boulevard. The fatal crash involved a patrol car and a pedestrian.

Emergency crews responded at the site of the incident shortly after. There, officers found the pedestrian on the highway with severe injuries. Medics later pronounced him dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries.

Initial investigations showed that the pedestrian was not in a crosswalk when the crash happened.
