At Least One Hospitalized after Traffic Accident near Highway 99
BUTTE COUNTY, CA (September 15, 2022) – An individual sustained injuries Wednesday following a two-vehicle crash on Meridian Road.
The collision took place near Highway 99 at around 4:25 p.m., per Butte County Officials.
According to reports, a white SUV turning left off Meridian Road onto Highway 99 pulled directly into the path of a car traveling northbound on Highway 99.
Afterward, the northbound car knocked down a utility pole on the side of the road before crashing through a wire fence and landing on its roof.
First responders located the driver of the overturned vehicle with minor injuries and transported them to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the other driver escaped the crash unharmed. At this time, officials have not released their identities.
Furthermore, officers temporarily closed the northbound lane of 99 while the southbound lanes remained open to the public.
The California Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash for more details and will release updates as soon as it is available.
