Police Officer Hospitalized after Traffic Accident on SR-51

PHOENIX, AZ (October 10, 2022) – One police officer sustained injuries following a three-car crash on State Route 51, Tuesday night. The crash happened around 7:30 p.m., when a police vehicle and two other vehicles collided for reasons currently unknown. As a result, one police officer sustained minor injuries while the other involved drivers escaped uninjured. Meanwhile, Arizona DPS has not yet identified the circumstances surrounding the crash, as an active investigation is ongoing. Moreover, a large portion of the area was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. No further details are public at this time, including the identities of any of the involved parties; however, more information will be provided once made available.
