10 Creative Ways to Reward Your Child

Rewarding your child can be a great way to show them that you appreciate their good behavior. But sometimes, it can be hard to think of ways to reward them that are both creative and fun. If you’re stuck in a rut, here are 6 suggestions to help you out!

1. Making their favorite food is a great way to reward your child.

Is your child’s favorite food macaroni and cheese? Pizza? Spend some time making their favorite meal, and they’ll be sure to appreciate it! Plus, it’ll give you some quality time together in the kitchen.

2. Have a movie night.

Grab some popcorn and snuggle up for a movie marathon! You can even make it educational by picking films related to what they’re learning in school.

3. Play tourist for the day.

Pretend like you’re visitors in your own town or city! Go explore all the landmarks and attractions you usually take for granted. It’ll be a fun way to learn more about where you live while spending quality time with your kiddo.

4. Take them on a special outing.

Whether it’s going to the park, getting ice cream, or going to see a movie, taking your child on a special outing is always a treat! They’ll love getting one-on-one attention from you, and you’ll get to spend some quality time together.

5. Create an obstacle course.

This one is sure to get their heart racing and burn off all that extra energy! Utilize whatever you have around the house – hula hoops, jump ropes, pillows – to create a course They’ll have so much fun they won’t even realize they’re exercising.

6. Go on a nature walk.

Get some fresh air and explore the great outdoors! See how many different types of trees, plants, and animals you can find. And don’t forget to bring along a camera or binoculars to document your adventure.

7. Give them extra screen time.

If your child is usually only allowed to use screens for an hour a day, giving them an extra half hour can be a really fun way to reward them! Just make sure they use that time wisely!

8. Letting them stay up late is a great way to reward your child.

Sometimes, letting your child stay up a little bit later than usual can be a real treat! Just make sure they’re not too tired the next day, or you might have a grumpy kiddo on your hands.

A small gift can go a long way in making your child feel appreciated. It doesn’t have to be anything big or expensive—sometimes, the small things mean the most!

10. Give them loving affirmations.

Letting your child know what you’re proud of is always important—but sometimes we forget to actually say it out loud!
