2 Bicyclists Injured in Traffic Crash on Saturn Boulevard [San Diego, CA]

12-Year-Old, 13-Year-Old Cyclists Hurt in Vehicle Accident near Elm Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (December 9, 2022) – Early Sunday night, two bicyclists sustained injuries in a vehicle crash on Saturn Boulevard.

The crash happened December 4th, shortly after 6:15 p.m., in the 900 block of Saturn Boulevard.

According to reports, the boys were crossing the street on their bicycles from east to west. There, a Volkswagen Jetta traveling southbound collided with them. The impact caused both boys, who were 12 and 13 years old, to lose consciousness. A witness performed life-saving measures on the 12-year-old boy.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old driver of the Jetta stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities. He was assessed and was determined to not be driving under the influence.

No other information was available at this time and further investigation is underway.
