The new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross is about to debut in the coming months, inheriting many features from the popular Corolla model. As we can see from the first official images, the new SUV looks stylish, and it sits between the smaller C-HR and the larger RAV4 in Toyota’s lineup. Like the mentioned models, the Toyota Corolla Cross also offers a modern interior and a bevy of driver-assistance features.

According to the manufacturer, the base model uses an anemic 2.0-liter four-cylinder that produces 169-hp. However, you can also get an optional hybrid system, which adds three electric motors, making a combined output of 194 ponies.

The new 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross looks stylish and it shares the design elements with the best-selling car of all time, the Corolla sedan. The upcoming SUV offers the same driving dynamics as a sedan with the functionality and utility of a large crossover. It looks attractive, especially on the front, where it dominates with a stylish small grille and huge headlights.

In general, the front of the new model reminds us a bit of the RAV4 model. It also wears attractive 18-inch black wheels, and expect larger on upper trims.

Modern Interior

All Corolla Cross models come with a dashboard that hosts a square infotainment display running on the latest Toyota software interface. Like many of Toyota’s models, the new Cross will come optionally with wireless smartphone charging, rear-seat USB charging ports, and a JBL stereo system.

The 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross is an upcoming SUV that will be available with two engines. The base model will come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, which is capable of producing 169-hp. This engine is using a continuously variable automatic transmission.

We must add that the front-wheel-drive is standard, but all-wheel drive can be have had as an option. The hybrid powertrain comes optional and it uses 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and three electric motors, producing 194 horsepower. Unlike the base engine, the hybrid one comes with an all-wheel drive as standard.

How Much Does the 2023 Toyota Corolla Cross Cost?

The new Toyota Corolla Cross will be available in nine trim levels. It starts with a base L, which costs $24k, while the upper ones LE is $26k, LE Hybrid/XLE $28k, XLE Hybrid $30k, S Hybrid $32k, SE Hybrid $34k, and XSE Hybrid $36k. We recommended stepping up for the XLE model, which is including a 10-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic climate control, blind-spot monitoring, and stylish 18-inch aluminum wheels.

All models will be available to purchase in the coming months. The new Toyota Corolla Cross will compete with models the Nissan Rogue Sport, Subaru Crosstrek, and Kia Seltos.
