San Francisco Man Fatally Struck in Hit-and-Run Accident on West MacArthur Boulevard
OAKLAND, CA (August 29, 2022) – Late Thursday afternoon, Andrew Tonken was killed in a hit-and-run crash on Piedmont Avenue.
The fatal incident happened around 4:00 p.m., at the intersection of Piedmont Avenue and West MacArthur Boulevard.
Investigators said a 2016 Chrysler, driven by 31-year-old Danniqua Tims of Pittsburg struck a man walking across West McArthur and fled the scene. Eventually, medical personnel arrived and transported the man to a hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
The Alameda County Coroner’s Office later identified the deceased victim as 35-year-old Tonken, of San Francisco.
Meanwhile, authorities booked Danniqua Tims into Santa Rita Jail under suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
