Bass Pulls Ahead Of Caruso In Latest Vote Update –

In the latest ballot update for mayor of Los Angeles, Karen Bass took a lead over Rick Caruso, as ballots continue to be counted.

The Friday afternoon update from the L.A. County Registrar’s Office showed Bass with 289,782 votes (50.38%) and Caruso with 285,938 votes (49.62%), a difference of 3,844.

On Wednesday morning, Caruso held a lead of more than 12,000 votes, which was cut to fewer than 3,000 on Thursday.

“We feel great about the numbers so far,” Bass posted to her Instagram account Wednesday. “As we await the next rounds of updates, know that we’re already rolling up our sleeves to launch urgent solutions for homelessness, public safety and affordability.”

On Thursday, Caruso said there were hundreds of thousands of votes left to count in the city of Los Angeles and acknowledged that the close race would see some volatility.

“As predicted, this is a close race,” Caruso wrote on Twitter Thursday. “There are hundreds of thousands of votes to count and as expected we are going to see different results each time. I continue to be cautiously optimistic about these numbers and look forward to the next series of results in the coming weeks.”

As of this writing, the race for mayor of Los Angeles is still too close to call.
