Oxnard Woman Identified Following Santa Barbara County Hit-and-Run Incident

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, CA (October 7, 2022) – Thursday evening, Blanca Aguilera died following a hit-and-run on East Mountain Drive. Deputies responded to the incident around 5:35 a.m. at the 800 block of East Mountain Drive after reports of a woman that was struck by a passing vehicle. Upon arrival, officers arrived and discovered the woman suffering from serious injuries. She was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. According to the investigators, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim and fled the scene before the authorities arrived. Unfortunately, the woman was pronounced dead at the hospital around 7:44 p.m. The Santa Barbara Coroner’s Bureau later identified the deceased woman as 32-year-old Aguilera. Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Those with further information regarding the  East Mountain Drive hit-and-run are encouraged to contact investigators as soon as possible.
