County Supervisor Killed in Pedestrian Accident on West Seventh Street near South A Street

OXNARD, CA (August 16, 2022) – Friday night, police responded to a pedestrian crash along West Seventh Street that claimed the life of Carmen Ramirez.

On August 12th, at around 6:40 p.m., the crash took place on West Seventh Street and South A Street involving a pedestrian and a 2020 GMC Sierra, per initial reports.

According to Oxnard Authorities, Carmen Ramirez was walking in a crosswalk when she was struck by the Sierra heading westbound on Seventh Street.

Furthermore, the driver of the Sierra has only been identified as a 38-year-old man at this time. Upon arrival, emergency crews pronounced 73-year-old Ramirez dead at the scene.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

Meanwhile, no other information was provided by the authorities at this time. An active investigation is currently ongoing.
