74-Year-Old Woman Killed in Traffic Accident near Post Street
YARNELL, AZ (September 5, 2022) – Friday night, a pedestrian crash near Highway 89 claimed the life of Donna Gordon.
The crash happened on August 26th, at around 7:00 p.m., near Highway 89 and Post Street.
According to police, 74-year-old Gordon was crossing a street in the area when she was fatally struck by a vehicle. The driver was later identified as a sergeant of the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office named Dakota Brinkley. Brinkley was off-duty at the time of the crash.
Brinkley pulled over and called for emergency crews to come to the scene, but despite life-saving efforts, Gordon died at the scene.
At this time, impairment is not believed to be the factor in the crash.
The investigation is handled by the Department of Public Safety’s Vehicular Crimes Unit, any witnesses are encouraged to contact 480-948-6377 if you want to be an anonymous tipper.
