Traffic Accident on Interstate 15 Left One Motorcyclist Dead, Suspect Arrested
CAJON PASS, CA (August 31, 2022) – On Saturday night, authorities arrested Elvin Mundo following a fatal hit-and-run on Interstate 15.
The incident happened around 9:43 p.m. after a northbound 2021 Dodge Ram collided with the rear of a 2019 International truck, police said.
As a result, the driver of the Dodge lost control and collided with a 2021 Harley Davison and a 2001 Harley Davidson.
Subsequently, the motorcycle then collided with a 2020 Honda Civic.
Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was ejected from their bike and was pronounced dead at the scene by responding medics. Although, their identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Several other motorcyclists were transported to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries.
Eventually, officials arrested the Dodge Ram driver, identified as Elvin Mundo of Victorville, for felony hit-and-run.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
