Head-On Collision near Tenaya Way Left One Dead
FRESNO, CA (August 8, 2022) – 57-year-old Jim Fuentes lost his life Friday after a head-on collision on North Fruit Avenue.
The incident happened just after 9:00 p.m. along North Fruit Avenue and Tenaya Way on July 29th, per initial reports.
According Fresno Officials, Fuentes was driving a Scion in the left most southbound lane of Fruit Avenue when for unknown reasons, he veered to the opposite lane and crashed head-on into a Nissan Altima.
The impact of the collision caused fatal injuries to Fuentes and medics pronounced him dead at the scene. Authorities said Fuentes was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, EMS crews rushed the unidentified 15-year-old driver of the Nissan to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
At this time, authorities have no further information about the cause or factors leading up to the fatal collision.
However, Fresno police officials are currently investigating the crash and will release updates once they become available.
