Head-On Collision near Upper Lake Left One Dead, Three Injured
UPPER LAKE, CA (August 23, 2022) – Early Thursday evening, John Steven Alvarez Sr. pronounced dead after a head-on crash on Highway 20.
The incident happened on August 18th, just before 5:00 p.m. along Highway 20, involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, John Steven Alvarez Sr. was pronounced dead at the scene by responding emergency crews.
Additionally, authorities reported that Caroll Landers, Douglas Warren, and William Hughes suffered injuries as a result from the collision. Although the circumstances leading up to and surrounding the accident are still unknown.
Both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
No other information about the fatal crash on Highway 20 has been provided by authorities. An active investigation is currently underway.
