29-Year-Old Man Arrested After Pedestrian Crash near Hallen Drive
ARCATA, CA (October 28, 2022) – Wednesday morning, police arrested Jose Luis Miranda-Osorio after a fatal crash on Valley West Boulevard.
The incident happened on October 26th, at around 5:53 a.m. near the 5000 block of Valley West Boulevard in Arcata.
According to reports, the pedestrian was walking in the area when he was struck by a vehicle. The driver of the vehicle, Miranda-Osorio, then left the scene without rendering aid to the victim.
Emergency crews were dispatched to the scene shortly after. Medics then transported the victim to St. Joseph’s Hospital where they were later pronounced dead due to the extent of their injuries.
Later in the day, police located and arrested 29-year-old Jose Luis Miranda-Osorio of Arcata and booked him into Humbolt County Correctional Facility. He is charged with felony hit-and-run resulting in death.
