21-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed after Hit-and-Run near 10th Avenue, One Arrested
HANFORD, CA (November 9, 2022) – Friday night, Joshua Kinser was killed in a hit-and-run on Lacey Boulevard, police said.
The fatal incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. at the intersection of East Lacey Boulevard and 10th Avenue.
At this time, the circumstances surrounding and the events leading up to the crash remain unclear.
However, the involved driver, identified to be 21-year-old Benjamin Fernandez, turned himself in Saturday morning at the Hanford Police Department.
Responding medical personnel declared the victim dead at the scene despite their life-saving efforts. Later, authorities identified the victim as 21-year-old Kinser.
Furthermore, both directions of the roadway were temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
In the end, police booked Fernandez into Kings County Jail for felony hit-and-run, causing a fatality and involuntary manslaughter.
No further details regarding the East Lacey Boulevard incident have been released to the public. Hanford Officials will provide more information once available.
