32-Year-Old Dies in Fatal Two-Vehicle Collision near Grant StreetPHOENIX, AZ (January 13, 2023) – Late Wednesday night, a crash near 7th Avenue claimed the life of Katherine Lee Adkins. The incident happened on December 14th, after 10:30 p.m., near the intersection of 7th Avenue and Grant Street involving a car and a truck. According to reports, a sedan traveling along 7th Avenue struck a truck causing the truck to overturn. The impact of the roll caused Adkins, who was a passenger in the truck, to be ejected from the vehicle. As a result, she sustained serious injuries. First responders to the collision transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment, however, she did not survive. Officials at the hospital pronounced 32-year-old Katherine Lee Adkins dead, due to the severity of her injuries. Meanwhile, the driver of the sedan drove off from the scene. Police later found the vehicle with her in it. She is suspected to have been driving under the influence. The driver of the truck also fled the scene. He ran off on foot and has not yet been located by police.
