Fatal Hit-and-Run near Sunset Avenue Leads to ArrestWEST COVINA, CA (December 7, 2022) – Thursday evening, Luis Banuelos was involved in a fatal hit-and-run crash on Cameron Avenue. The collision happened around 9:10 p.m. at the intersection of South Sunset and West Cameron avenues. According to reports, two vehicles collided in the area leaving a woman injured. The male driver of the other involved vehicle immediately fled the scene before the responding officers arrived. The woman succumbed to her injuries after medics transported her to a hospital. However, her identity remains undisclosed to the public, pending notification from her next of kin. In the end, officers arrested 32-year-old Luis Banuelos of Long Beach. He is currently facing charges of assault with a deadly weapon, hit-and-run, and DUI. An Investigation also showed that Banuelos was involved in a nearby business theft. Police are asking anyone with information about the Cameron Avenue hit-and-run to contact West Covina Officials immediately.
