23-Year-Old Woman Hurt, Man Killed in Solo-Car Collision near New York Flat Road

YUBA COUNTY, CA (September 26, 2022) – Friday, a man was killed and Makayla Beasley was hurt in a solo-car crash on Quincy La Porte Road.

The incident happened around 11:42 p.m., just east of New York Flat Road on September 23rd.

For reasons under investigation, the male driver of a Chevy trailblazer lost control and veered off the road before crashing into an embankment. Medics arrived and pronounced the 19-year-old driver dead at the scene.

Meanwhile, responding paramedics transported 23-year-old Beasley to a nearby hospital for further treatment.

Following preliminary duties, alcohol or drugs were not considered to be potential factors in the fatal collision.

Both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties. Meanwhile, Yuba County Police advised any witnesses to contact their investigators at 530-674-5141. An active investigation is underway.
