One Man Hospitalized after Pedestrian Collision at Garnet Avenue

SAN DIEGO, CA (November 8, 2022) – Early Sunday morning, a DUI collision at Garnet Avenue sent an unidentified man to hospital.

The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m., October 30th, along 1100 Garnet Avenue, according to initial reports.

As per the CHP, a man was walking northbound on Garnet when 30-year-old motorcyclist struck the pedestrian.

Responding medics rushed the 21-year-old male pedestrian to UCSD Hospital with injuries that were considered to be life-threatening. While the motorcyclist was also taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital with minor injuries.

At this time, officials have not released the names of any the involved parties, pending notification of next of kin.

A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.

The CHP stated that it is certain that drug or alcohol is a factor in the incident, however, an active investigation is underway.
