One Man Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 19
TUCSON, AZ (August 3, 2022) – Early Wednesday, one man was injured in a semi-truck collision on Interstate 19.
The incident happened on July 13th, at around 3:39 a.m., near Sahuarita Road.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, a crash involving a semi-truck and another vehicle resulted in a driver being trapped in the cab of the big-rig.
Emergency crews arrived at the site of the wreck and extricated the man from the vehicle. He was then flown to a local hospital in Tucson for treatment of his injuries.
Meanwhile, the truck was leaking hazardous materials, so a team had to be dispatched to contain the spill. Officials closed the southbound lanes near kilometer meter 75, between Sahuarita Road and Pima Mine Road, during cleanup and preliminary duties.
At this time, the circumstances leading up to the collision remain unclear. However, Tucson officials are currently conducting an investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the semi-truck collision on Interstate 19 is encouraged to call local authorities as soon as possible.
