Bicyclist Pronounced Dead after Fatal Accident on 21st Street
BAKERSFIELD, CA (August 15, 2022) – Early Wednesday morning, one man was pronounced dead after a bicycle crash on Oak Street.
The incident happened just after midnight on August 10th on Oak Street and 21st Street, per initial reports. According to reports, a passing vehicle struck the bicyclist as they were riding along Oak Street for reasons currently unknown.
Furthermore, the man was found unresponsive on the road with severe injuries. Medics transported him to Kern Medical, where they later pronounced him dead.
Meanwhile, the vehicle’s driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Police said he showed no signs of impairment. In addition, police say speed was not a factor in the crash. The cause of the incident is still under investigation at this time.
