Bakersfield Hit-and-Run Driver Wanted After Deadly Crash

BAKERSFIELD, CA (October 25, 2022) – Friday night, a hit-and-run crash on South Hi Street claimed the life of one man. The fatal incident happened around 8:12 p.m. at the 700 block of South Hi Street. According to the police, a gray GMC Yukon, or possibly a similar vehicle, struck the man for reasons still under investigation. However, the driver did not render aid to the victim and fled the scene before authorities arrived. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene due to the extent of his injuries. Although, his name remains undisclosed pending notification of next of kin. The Bakersfield Police Department, Major Collision Investigation Team, continues investigating the fatal incident on South Hi Street.
