Traffic Collision near Valli Hi Drive Left One FatalityLANDERS, CA (October 7, 2022) – Early Tuesday evening, a car accident on State Route 247 claimed the life of Nathan Salazar. According to Officer Michael Radford, a 2006 Nissan Frontier was going north along State Route 247 around 5:00 p.m. The California Highway Patrol said the victim followed another car before passing it in the southbound lanes. Afterward, the vehicle turned right after passing the car and crossed the northbound lanes, entering the wide-open desert next to Valli Hi Drive. As a result, the Nissan rolled over and crashed into a fire hydrant. Eventually, paramedics arrived at the scene and took the driver, Nathan Salazar, to the Hi-Desert Medical Center. He was later airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he succumbed to his injuries.
