OPD Officer Hospitalized after Traffic Accident near 52nd Avenue
OAKLAND, CA (October 6, 2022) – Sunday morning, an Oakland Police Department officer was injured after a hit-and-run on Wentworth Avenue.
The incident happened at around 10:00 a.m., at the 5200 block of Wentworth Avenue.
According to reports, officers responded to reports of an unresponsive driver in the middle of the roadway of Wentworth Avenue. Upon arrival, authorities attempted to detain the driver. However, the subject woke up and sped off, hitting an officer in the process.
The officer was transported to a hospital and is now in stable condition. At this time, the injured party’s identity and the suspect remain undisclosed.
