One Fatally Struck near MacArthur Maze
OAKLAND, CA (August 23, 2022) – On Friday morning, one person was pronounced dead after a pedestrian accident on Interstate 80.
According to the California Highway Patrol, officers responded to the incident shortly after 5:00 a.m., just west of MacArthur Maze and the junction of Highway 80.
Furthermore, the accident resulted in the death of one person. However, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Meanwhile, the fatal crash resulted in heavy traffic for commuters attempting to take the Bay Bridge.
At this time, Oakland Officials are advising motorists to find alternate routes into San Francisco. A large portion of the roadway was temporarily shutdown to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
