Traffic Accident near Grant Street Resulted in One Fatality
CONCORD, CA (September 26, 2022) – Early Friday morning, police responded to a pedestrian crash on State Highway 242 that left one fatality.
According to police, officers were dispatched to a crash on September 23rd at about 4:00 a.m., in the northbound lanes of the Grant Street onramp, involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.
Furthermore, authorities stated that the person was walking on the roadway when a driver of the Honda Civic struck them for reasons unknown.
In addition, the driver did not suffer any injuries. The man was given medical attention on the scene but later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the events, the victim’s identity was not yet released, pending notification of next of kin. Additionally, the highway was blocked for 20 minutes and was reopened by 5:00 a.m.
