Collision near McKinley Avenue Left One Fatality
FRESNO, CA (October 7, 2022) – Wednesday morning, a pedestrian accident on Highway 41 claimed the life of one man, per initial reports.
The fatal incident happened around 5:30 a.m. near McKinley Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle hit a man attempting to cross Highway 41, sending the pedestrian through the windshield.
Subsequently, the driver continued down the highway for about a quarter mile before coming to rest.
Responding medical personnel transported the driver to a nearby hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Unfortunately, the pedestrian was declared dead at the scene. However, their identity has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
Investigators said that approaching vehicles may have struck the victim multiple times after the initial collision.
