Filipino divers Monique Ann Demaisip and Deorelar Francisco hauled in three gold medals in their respective events at the 10th Asian Age Group Championships over at Sports Authority of India, Bengaluru.
Demaisip bagged the gold medal in the 1-meter Women Spring Board event after garnering a total score of 185.55. Borova Yelizaveta of Kazakhstan settled for the silver with a score of 180.30 while Lai Yu Yen of Chinese Taipei took the bronze after scoring 167.40.
The 21-year-old Fil-American from Bacolod would add another gold medal for the country when she also topped the 3-meter Women Spring Board event. She finished with a score of 214.40 and bested silver medal winner Zhuravleva Juliya of Kazakhstan 207.25. Fellow Kazakh Yelizaveta took home the bronze after scoring 165.16.
The third gold medal for the Philippines came courtesy of Deorelar Francisco in the 3-meter Men Spring Board event. The 24-year-old made a good account of himself in the competition, finishing with a score of 295.70. Indian divers Sharma K Ramananda of India (287.75) and Pradeshi Siddharth (282.15).
The Philippine diving team contingent to the 10 Asian Age Group Championships was led by Philippine National Diving Team Chairwoman Marie DeCastro Dimanche together with coaches Xiaofeng Cui and Nino Beduya Carog.
Other divers who participated in the event included Kiel Yulo, Joseph Reynaldo, Rose Ann Ocmer and Jana May Villaflor.
