BLUE LAKE, CA (October 25, 2022) – Tuesday afternoon, one person died after a motorcycle accident on Highway 299.

The fatal collision happened around 12:30 p.m., near Blue Lake Boulevard.

According to California Highway Patrol, a westbound motorcycle collided head-on with a logging truck traveling the opposite direction.

Medics arrived and reported that the rider sustained fatal injuries. The pronounced them dead at the scene. However, their identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.

At this time, investigators ruled out intoxication as a contributing factor in the collision. The total number of parties involved and the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation at this time.
