37-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed in Traffic Accident near Garden Drive Off-Ramp

OROVILLE, CA (July 15, 2022) – Tuesday morning, police responded to a hit-and-run crash that claimed the life of Robert Danforth.

According to Butte County Sheriffs, the incident happened on July 5 at around 4:00 a.m. on Highway 70.

Reports say that Danforth was walking along the highway when he was struck by a vehicle, that left him with critical injuries.

Emergency medical services arrived at the scene but could not revive Danforth. They pronounced him dead at the scene.

The vehicle involved is described as a 2005-2007 Ford Super Duty or Ford Excursion. The driver of the Ford left the scene shortly after the collision.
