Robert Paul Willie Pronounced Dead after Crash on Alvernon Way [Tucson, AZ]

79-Year-Old Killed in Car Accident near Lee Street

TUCSON, AZ (November 21, 2022) – On Friday, a vehicle collision along North Alvernon Way claimed the life of Robert Paul Willie.

According to police, the incident happened at North Alvernon Way and East Lee Street.

Investigation showed that 79-year-old Willie was traveling southbound on Alvernon with his 2005 Honda Civic.

Furthermore, Willie attempted to turn left into Lee Street when a 2015 Kia Optima collided with him.

As a result, Willie suffered injuries and crews from Tucson Fire Department took him to Banner – University Medical Center.

Unfortunately, two days after the crash, on November 6th, Willie passed away. Both driver showed no signs of impairment at the time of the collision.

Meanwhile, police have stated that failing to yield right-of-way is the factor of the incident. An active investigation is currently underway.
