Ronald Matson Pronounced Dead after Car Crash on Interstate 40 [San Bernardino, CA]


Traffic Accident near Fort Cady Road Left Elderly Man Dead

SAN BERNARDINO, CA (December 1, 2022) – Sunday afternoon, a car crash along Interstate 40 took the life of Ronald Matson.

According to initial reports, CHP units responded to the incident around 2:05 p.m. at mile marker 27 on I-40 in Newberry Springs.

Currently, the total number of people involved and the circumstances that led up to the crash remain unclear.

Paramedics who responded to the incident declared one person dead at the scene.  Later, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s coroner division identified the deceased person as 60-year-old Ronald Matson, from Winchester.

Meanwhile, another occupant was airlifted by Mercy Air to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.

No further details regarding the Interstate 40 traffic accident have been released to the public. San Bernardino Officials will provide more information once available.
