18-Year-Old Moreno Valley Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Mead Valley
PERRIS, CA (November 15, 2022) – Saturday evening, Rosa Martinez was killed in a pedestrian crash on Nandina Avenue.
The fatality happened around 6:04 p.m. at the 21100 block of Nandina Avenue, just east of Brown Street.
According to a witness, a gray Honda traveling at about 90 mph hit a pedestrian, causing it to flip over.
The California Highway Patrol said it remains unclear whether the 19-year-old driver was under the influence at the time of the incident. First responders transported the driver to a hospital for minor injuries.
Unfortunately, the pedestrian sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene. Later, the Riverside County coroner’s office identified the victim as 18-year-old Rosa Martinez of Moreno Valley.
Moreover, both directions of the roadway were temporarily closed down to allow for cleanup and preliminary duties.
