Season’s Screamings has the Spookiest Stocking Stuffers

If your favorite holiday is Halloween, there is absolutely no reason to give up the creepy decor and dark aesthetics simply because it’s Christmas time. For a lot of us, the holidays are connected. Nowhere is the melding of yuletide celebration and wicked wonder more evident than at Season’s Screamings, the convention where cosplay monsters, vendors and performers come together for a bloody and bodacious three-date slasher bash. This year’s festivities include burlesque and drag performers: “The Island of Misfit Tease” show on Friday and “The Nightmare Before Dragmas” on Saturday. Sat.- Sun. there’s a Krampus run and the event’s popular haunt experience, “Hall of Yuletide Spirits,” returns for those who crave jump scares and immersive walk-thrus.

The frightful fete will offer over 200 booths to puruse and panels such as the “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” presentation with animator Phil Roman, and the offspring of  Chuck Jones (lead animator and director) and Boris Karloff (who might be best known as Frankenstein but also voiced the iconic cartoon).  Other appearances will include Henry Thomas (Elliot from “E.T.”), Keith David (NOPE, They Live), Steven Weber (The Shining mini-series), Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep, Ouija: Origin of Evil, The Haunting of Hill House), Scott MacDonald (Jack Frost, Jarhead, Carnivale), Kate Siegel (HUSH, The Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass), Robert Brian Wilson (Silent Night Deadly Night) and Eric Freeman (Silent Night Deadly Night: Part 2). A “secret” showing of a brand new, unreleased holiday horror flick, “starring the lead of one of this year’s most terrifying films” is also being teased in the promo materials and we’ll bet our gorenament collection it’ll be this.

Season’s Screamings at the Pasadena Convention Center, 300 E Green St, Pasadena; Fri.-Sun., Dec. 2-4. For info on times and tickets go to
