Subhumans and Generación Suicida at the Regent

Subhumans and Generación Suicida at the Regent: This is a great double bill. British street punk oiks the Subhumans have joined forces with one of L.A.’s best of the new breed – Generación Suicida. Goddam, that’s going to be a night of fired up and furious punk anthems.

According to the press release, “Subhumans were originally meant to tour the U.S. in the spring of 2020 but had to cancel their tour only weeks after announcing due to the pandemic. Now, this will be Subhumans‘ first time in the United States since the fall of 2019. The band released its latest LP, Crisis Point, in September 2019 (their first in 12 years) to rave reviews from fans and press all around the world.”

Back in 2015, Tom Reardon wrote for LA Weekly of the Subhumans’ Worlds Apart album, “Similar to the Dead Kennedys’ Frankenchrist, the Subhumans (U.K.) put out Worlds Apart after releasing two blistering slabs of punk fury in 1983, The Day the Country Died and From the Cradle to the Grave. While I love their first two records, and have always been on the fence about the great Subhumans debate related to which “Subhumans” is better, the Canadian band of the same name or the British band we are currently discussing, Worlds Apart has always been my favorite record by these punks from across the pond.”

See them both at the weekend.

Subhumans and Generación Suicida at the Regent: The event takes place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, July 17 at the Regent Theatre.
