Two Dead after Collision on State Route 155 [Delano, CA]


Three People Injured in Crash on Garces Highway near Melcher Road

DELANO, CA (August 9, 2022) – Saturday morning, a collision on State Route 155 claimed the lives of two people.

The accident happened on August 6th, at around 2 a.m. at the intersection of State Route 155 and Melcher Road.

According to California Highway Patrol, a 17-year-old driver ran a stop sign and collided with another car. The force of the impact caused both cars to leave the road and they ended up in a dirt field.

When paramedics arrived, they found five people injured. The occupants of the other involved vehicle, a 33-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman died due to the extent of their injuries. The 17-year-old driver and two of his passengers suffered moderate to major injuries.

At this time, authorities have not released the identities of those involved in the crash, pending notification of next of kin.
