Finding Out More About a New Type of Pain Relief

Significant pain can affect everyday life in many different ways and any relief however small that can be obtained is welcomed by all. There is a product that is increasingly popular that scientific studies are finding has an impact on the symptoms of many illnesses and health problems. What I’m referring to is CBD oil, an oil derived from the Cannabis plant and being manufactured into many different products now on the shelves of an increasing number of health and wellness stores.

Finding Out More on CBD Oil

The full name of the main active ingredient in CBD oil is Cannabidiol, it is one of over a hundred compounds that make up the Cannabis plant.  CBD oil contains very little of the main psychoactive compound (THC) in Cannabis so does not have the same effects. Cannabidiol stimulates the body’s receptors that govern pain and the immune system, it can also prevent the release of compounds that trigger inflammation in the body. CBD once extracted is then mixed with a plant oil such as palm oil to form the end product. This is then manufactured into items like edibles, lotions and CBD vape liquids which we’ll now look at further.

The Different CBD Oil Products

CBD oil has a wide ranging list of uses, it is best absorbed by the body via direct contact, CBD oil products dipped or sprayed under the tongue mean they are quickly dissolved into the bloodstream. Oils and balms rubbed into skin are also absorbed faster than edibles swallowed into the stomach as they are diluted by stomach acid before entering the body’s internal system.

So, some products are faster acting than others, these include –

  • Oral tablets, capsules, and other edibles such as sweets.
  • CBD oils, balms, and skin care products.
  • Vaping e-liquids containing CBD oil.

The CBD oil products all contain one of three different types of CBD oil which contains different compounds and concentrations, these are full-spectrum, broad-spectrum and isolates, their specific differences are –

  • Full-Spectrum – this includes all the compounds of the host cannabis plant; full spectrum products must have a THC level of less than 0.3% to be legal.
  • Broad Spectrum CBD products contain all the other compounds except for THC.
  • CBD isolate has none of the other cannabis compounds and it is the purest form of CBD oil.

Deciding what CBD oil is best for you may be difficult, the best answer is to try each in turn and see how you react to them.

The Range of Affected Illnesses

The scientific case studies involving CBD oil are increasing every year and there are encouraging results for a wide range of mental health disorders and illnesses. From mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, and PTSD to chronic pain illnesses like arthritis and multiple sclerosis. It also has positive effects for cancer patients and sufferers of circulatory problems such as high blood pressure.

Take some time to further investigate CBD Oil and its uses, if you or some-one you know can find some relief it will be time well spent.
